Article Last Updated: 01/26/2008 01:51:01 AM EST

Jan 26, 2008 — Two York teenagers were arrested Monday after they were seen peeking into a window of a home about 11 p.m. in the 1000 block of Mason Avenue in West York while wearing masks and carrying handguns, West York Borough Police said.
Angel N. Rengifo, 18, of the 100 block of East Princess Street was charged with possession of a firearm with an altered manufacturer's number and firearms not to be carried without a license, police said.

Frederick E. Owens III, 19, of the 1200 block of Edison Avenue was charged with receiving stolen property and firearms not to be carried without a license, police said. Owens was found in possession of a handgun reported stolen during a Dec. 21 burglary in Hellam Township, police said. Both were in York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Very interesting...I wonder if they were caught with the guns in their hands...I mean they're old enough for open carry, but not stolen carry.

they may have just had the firearms concealed.

the section of the PA UFA that says you have to have an LTCF to carry *concealed* is called "Firearms not to be carried without a license".

(that section header doesn't mention concealed or open, but the actual text of the law does make it apply only to concealed carry and not open carry.)

so, if you are carrying conealed without an LTCF, you are in violation of the section of law titled "Firearms not to be carried without a license". the report was probably just refering to that.

Not to hijack, but what if you have a license but forget to have it on you? Like getting pulled over but forgetting to bring your drivers license with you...

They ask you if you have a permit, and then run your name to see if you have one and it's valid.

    What is an illegal weapon?
Where is there legitimate law anywhere to regulate firearms?

I'm sure these punks were probably up to no good but charge them with a legitimate crime.

If you think you have the right not to be offended. I suggest you promptly purchase a toe attachment and a twelve gauge. One time use is all that is necessary.

IOW, they were charged under subsection 6106 of the Uniform Firearms Act. SS6106 is titled: "Firearms not to be carried without a license"

    Ref:
§6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license

My guess is they had them concealed, and were therefor in violation of the above statute.

Underage (18, 19) for having a handgun, ski masks, hiding in bushes and looking in windows, stolen handguns to boot...

Good bust by West York police. Let the morons rot in York County Prison.

Does that apply to out of state permits as well, i.e., florida, utah, etc....?
