Question Wilderness Belt - 5 Stitch or CSM?

For those of you who have (or have used) Wilderness belts, do you prefer the 5 stitch or the CSM (i.e., with a stiffener)? I'm looking at getting a 1.5", for use both IWB and OWB, and will be using to carry larger, heavier guns (FNP 9, BHP, and maybe a 4" 686).

I've noticed comments in some of the other threads discussing these belts that the 5 stitch is better for IWB and the CSM for OWB. I'm primarily looking at IWB, and currently use a 1.5" leather Blackhawk CQC belt. I wouldn't mind something a little stiffer, but wouldn't want anything more flexible.

    Thoughts?

I've been wearing a 1.5" CSM for about three years now. I carry about 50/50 IWB and OWB. I've been quite happy with the belt. I've never used a 5 stitch, so I can't compare the two.

Same here. I have a 1.5 inch CSM for a couple years. The thing is bullet proof. I carry an XD 45ACP OWB all the time and it is fantastic. Especially when you consider what they cost. I think mine was around $45.

I can't see why you would want something that might be more flexible for IWB carry?

1.5 inch here with 5 stitch, I LOVE IT - then again I never have tried the CSM.

Ditto above. Love my 1.5" 5 stitch. Never used the CSM. The 5 stitch has been perfect for OWB and IWB use.

I have and use a number of these. Any time I am wearing jeans/casual clothing I use a 1.5 inch without the stiffiner. I have not worn anythnig else for several years.

For range use, I prefer the 1.75 in. with the stiffiner. It really holds things in place no matter where on the belt one may put stuff.

I never carry IWB, by the way, so take that into consideration.

I have been using 3-stich 1.5" wilderness... I have not had any issues with it...

I have both the CSM and 5 stitch. I originally bought the CSM cause I thought the stiffener would be useful for a 5" 1911. After getting the 5 stitch, I've concluded the 5 stitch is just fine for carrying a 5" 1911 OWB with a spare mag.
If you are going to be carrying fully duty gear with a lot more than that, then perhaps the CSM would be a good option. But I think that the 5 stitch is supportive enough for most people.

1.5" 5 stitch. Plenty good for the Glock and the 1911.

I have a 1 1/4" CSM ring belt and will be getting a 1 1/2" CSM FF next week. For a heavy gun or a large belt I'd go for the CSM. I'm a bigger guy so I like the extra stiffness the CSM offers. Going to pick up a 1 3/4" CSM in the near future.
