Ramsey in DC for F&F hearings. WHY ???

I could understand why Ramsey would be cherry picked to perpetuate the mythical " Florida Loophole " when giving testimony regarding National Carry Reciprocity.

But why in the hell is he in DC today for the House Sub Committee Hearings on Fast and Furious ?????

Im watching the hearings on CSPAN and saw him clear as day as they went to recess about ten minutes ago.

What business does Ramsey have to do with a Federal Gun Running Scandal designed to further infringe on 2A Rights ????

He isnt the Chief of a City anywhere remotely close to the border with Mexico, what sage insights could he possibly offer ?

The ONLY link I can come up with is his personal experience with heading up corrupt and out of control Law Enforcement Agencies ( Chi Town and Philly ) and the obvious corruption and lies at Justice and ATF.

Maybe he was whispering in Holders ear about how to try and get out of this scandal ??

Will be waiting to see if anyone from the Philly area media even bother to ask what Ramsey's interest or purpose is in being in DC, on the taxpayers dime, inserting himself into an issue that has nothing to do with him.

He's the former chief of Chicago and DC, and now is the Commissioner of Philly. He testified previously that he's personally against carry in any form (IIRC), and isn't a fan of private gun ownership.

In short, he's the poster child for advancing the Obama-Holder anti-gun agenda. That's why he's testifying, IMHO.

If he was invited to testify, I can't see him saying "No". A call to testify before Congress is not something one gives the finger to lightly, no matter which side of which issue one is on. It's kind of like an invitation to see the President. It doesn't matter if you hate the guy. When the President invites you, you go -- not because of the man, but because of the Office.

Good point! I read too much into your post. I'm curious, too, now. He wasn't just there to have a photo op. Was any part of the hearing not televised?

If Holder gets the boot - they need an equally 'qualified' candidate to fill in the gap - Perhaps Ramsey is auditioning to move to the Federal level of Boldly Abusive Toward Fireams-owners???
