    Default Aluminum grip panels

I'm thinking about getting them for a couple of my Sigs...a 220 and a 229.
Gonna have them monogrammed and maybe a few other little etchings.
Any suggestions on who to use. Thanks

Alumagrips is pretty much the gold standard for aluminum grips. They also have a 'custom' shop for engraving, etc.

Thanks...great site but unfortunately they don't do 220 or 229.

Sorry - I didn't pick up on that.

    Good luck!

Some of those patterns are pretty cool. Not sure how much i'd like the idea of having aluminum grips on both very hot or very cold days though.

    +1.

They are downright unpleasant in cold weather, and slick when sweaty. You have to go with something pretty heavily checkered to avoid them being slippery.

I just got a pair of VZ grips for a 1911, and they are incredible. I don't know if they're making Sig grips at the moment.

    ETA;
They are, but only for the 226 and the 238.

Not nearly as nice as some of their other grips. Not cheap either.

Had a set of slim greenish-gray anodized Alumagrips on an OD-green Springfield MicroCompact and all was well until I took the gun shooting the first winter thereafter. The MC rested uncovered on the bench for about 25-30 mins before I picked it up bare handed, and it was M-F-ing COLD. Numbing cold. After four quick mags my hand ACHED.

Back to black rubber that afternoon, after getting home and giving the MC a good cleaning.

I like the rubber grips myself. It seems the gun sticks in your hand better.

Hogue makes aluminum grips for Sig P-series... I don't know who would be able to etch them though...

My opinion is that you owe it to yourself to at least handle a set of Hogue G-10 grips, though...

You could still have them etched by someone if you want, but they are the grippiest, toughest grips I've found for my Sigs. VZ might make G-10's for some Sigs too.. I have no personal experience with that brand, though.

And G-10's don't get cold like aluminum (as described by Noah).

I personally am not a fan of the rubber grips, but as evidenced by posts here, many guys prefer them to any other grip material...

    Regards,

    Bones

I imagine the G10 Hogues are pretty nice. Like I said above, the VZs I just got are fantastic, but the Sig grips they have are really unattractive imo.
