HR 822-National concealed carry bill
Did anyone catch the full page ad in this mornings Bucks County Courier Times on page A5 condemning Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for supporting this bill ? It featured a photo at the top of the page of former Int'l Assoc. of Chiefs of Police Mike Carroll saying that "the bill would force Pa to accept CC permits from every other state even if the carrier is too dangerous to be granted a permit under our own laws".
He goes on to say that not only are the police opposed to it but so are district attorneys, sheriffs, faith leaders, & hundreds of Pa mayors & that the gun lobby told him to ignore thier advise & now law inforcement will be much more dangerous.
He wants people to contact the U S Senate to vote against this bill.At the end it syas learn more & take a stand at:

Re: HR 822-National concealed carry bill
We should use their site to send a modified letter like this:
Dear Senator Casey and Senator Toomey,
I am writing to encourage you to SUPPORT federally mandated national concealed carry reciprocity.
Congress should override our legislature's authority to decide from which states Pennsylvania accepts concealed carry permits.
Thank you.

Re: HR 822-National concealed carry bill
It is interesting how many people in the state believe Pennsylvania to be a "may issue" state that issues carry permits to residents only and does not accept out of state carry permits. All three of those assumptons are false. The writer of the Courier Times article should have investigated the current laws instead of using scare tactics against unknowing folks in suburbia. If they knew how Pennsylvania compared with other shall issue states regarding the approval of carry permits, the anti-gunners would be shocked, assuming that they are not already.
...and they have a plan...

Re: HR 822-National concealed carry bill
I know this was mentioned alreadyin the other HR822 thread, but along the lines of being shocked by what they don't know, the representative from Georgia was arguing against HR822 because it would allow folks from states that don't require training to carry in his state, a state that doesn't require training either.

Re: HR 822-National concealed carry bill
Please tell me you guys don't support this??? This is as horrible law, good intentions but really we can't have the federal government involved in state issues, they are involved in to many already. ANY involvement by the federal government will only lead to INCREASED involvement. They should have sponsored a bill nullifying ALL federal gun laws and leaving EVERYTHING to the states like the constitution says.
BAD BAD LAW!!!MOLON LABE

Checking thomas.gov, it only lists up to yesterday for bills in the Senate. And the only thing that was firearms related seemed to be this:
