    Default Casting and Reloading Lightfields?

Does anyone know how to do it or where I can even start? After seeing how pricey it can be to shoot them Ive decided to try my hand at casting and reloading my own. Anyone know where I can find componets, moulds, or even data? Thanks all!

Closest thing I know of that can be reloaded is Lyman slugs.

I'm toying with the idea, myself. It seems that a short list of needs is a smelting pot, mold, mold handles, gloves, safety glasses, apron, flux, lube, lead, tin, and antimony. My biggest hesitation is that I don't have any outside space to set up safely, just a basement. I don't want to have fumes inside.

From what ive read melting lead dosent release any fumes until it hits its boiling point. And since lead is a fairly heavy metal the lead particles in the fumes dont stay airborn for too long before they fall to the ground. Best thing to do while casting is to set up a fan behind you to blow the "stink" away from you, and also make sure your NOT downwind from the melting lead.

You might try loading some from purchased components before making your own. Check Ballistic Products link below.

Lead, tin and antimony. Depends on your source of lead whether you need the other stuff. For casting slugs plain old WW's are fine. I wouldn't even bother picking out the stick on WW's. They do STINK when you're first melting them down though. You also need to watch out for the dreaded zinc's as well, but they melt at a higher temp so if you're careful you just skim them off with the clips.

If you're not sure about getting the stuff or smelting it, you can buy smelted WW's from people and avoid all that extra work and stink.

Not about about posting other websites here so I'm sending you a link to a website that is dedicated to lead.
