The owner of Classic Pistol was on the radio this morning calling for new regulations on firearms....

    MANDATORY training for firearms owners
    MANDATORY FFL transfers on rifles

The call was between 8:20 and 8:30 this morning on I believe IQ 106.9/Lionel. I was flipping through the channels when I heard "This is Don?Doug? the owner of Classic Pistol in Southampton"....

The call started out good, explained what certain guns were, the process to buy them, the idea that the gunshow loophole is a fallacy, explained private transactions, then went on to say something to the effect of, "I'm probably going to get strung up for this one"....

His name is Bob, hopefully it was someone posing as the owner rather than the owner.

That said I suppose with the sudden very real potential firearms are about to become hard to own and harder to purchase the shops are going to begin looking for other revenue streams. Such as support for FFL transfers on everything and mandatory training for everyone.

I was in the Piggly-Wiggly here in town today so naturally I stopped by the surprisingly good FFL shop within the store. The ammo shelves are less full than usual, sales are definately up (according to the clerk) and anything sort of assault weaponish is now removed from the racks where we once could fondle them. They now live behind the counter. Oddly they are secured with a cable.....just as all the rifles are that are available for the public to handle. These same rifles were always cabled but I guess for PC values they moved them from easy viewing. But they missed one. A new Springfield M1A.

    ErSwnn,

Exactly my thoughts on his stance. He is looking out for NUMERO UNO, not for 2A rights.

    What a shame.

We are best to wait till it's confirmed to be Bob. It doesn't sound like him.

I am surprised that Ceasefire agreed with Bob from Classic.

I was also surprised to see he stated that LTCF were given too easily and there should be mandatory training. I agree with him about NJ, as I am originally from NJ and know how they work. I also agree criminals need to be locked up and the charges need to stick, not plea bargain.

I am very surprised to see ceasefire stating they do no have a problem with legal owners. We have seen Ceasefire say no guns.

"No unifying factors" concerning mass shootings. This is interesting.

Good job BOB about GUN SHOW LOOPHOLE FANTASY!!

I wish you guys would have stepped and talked about repeat offenders and the fact they have not kept the criminals locked up or properly charged!

Why do you think Bob said he is for mandatory training for LTCF like other states?

I am a constitutional carry guy because if you can purchase a gun you should be able to carry it.

I'm speculating that it is due to the blatant safety violations he sees as a public range owner.

Then he should require mandatory training to buy a gun from him or shoot at his range. Not suggest it be forced on everybody else.
