Re: If I get a PA Pistol Permit and Move out of PA ?
Well,
I am not falsely stating anything.
I did not see a question on the application that says, "did you move to Pennsylvania because NY sucks and you want a pistol".
Besides, it would be a tough one to prove, not that proof means anything in most local courts.
I would transfer my drivers license, bills, etc.
I guess there is an easier approach, to just move the hell out of crap-hole NY.
Then I can get a pistol without having my hair parted the same way as my county judge.

Re: If I get a PA Pistol Permit and Move out of PA ?
I know NY does not honor anything from anywhere.
But I would think having three CCW permits from other states would speak to the fact that you are responsible and capable of handling a firearm.
I know I would feel like a prick if I denied someone a pistol permit when they hold valid permits in multiple other states.

Re: If I get a PA Pistol Permit and Move out of PA ?
This is what the PA State Police website says about it...
"A Pennsylvania license cannot be issued to a resident of another state who does not possess a current license or permit or similar document to carry a firearm issued by their home state if a license is provided for by the laws of that state, as published annually in the Federal Register by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms of the Department of the Treasury."

NY permit holder, need info on PA permits.
New member here. Hello everybody !
I live in NY and have a valid Permit for CC. I visit PA several times per year. I would like to carry my piece when I visit PA. What I have read here is I need to dload a appl fill it out and send 26.00 to PA and I can get a permit valid in PA.
Correct?
There is no Cabelas, in NY, does this mean I can also buy a pistol in PA from Cabelas?-- and bring it home ---Of course limited to 10RDs, and or revolvers.
Thanks!!

Re: NY permit holder, need info on PA permits.
Hello, and welcome.
You need to apply for a non-resident LTCF. Check the PAFOA homepage for the list of PA counties and whether or not they grant non-resident LTCFs. Here it is, a part of the PAFOA user interface at the top of every PAFOA page.
This is (in part) a federal issue. No matter where you try and buy a handgun from in PA, it will need to be transferred via FFL holders from PA to NY. In other words, you wouldn't legally buy a handgun from Cabela's in PA and then drive home with it back to NY.
And some general advice--browse and search the forum. Lots of the questions you will come up with have been asked.
Again, welcome aboard.

The statement, which is unsworn, indicates that falsification is subject to penalty under 18 Pa.C.S.A. § 4904 Unsworn falsification to authorities - misdemeanor 3

Re: NY permit holder, need info on PA permits.
Thanks for your info. One more question though.
Not sure of the County issue. I live in NY and I get a permit in MY county, then my permit is valid in all of NY state, except of course Campuses, etc.
Since I am not a resident of PA, WHICH county do I chose?, I do not understand ,sorry.
Thanks!!

It is generally agreed that the Sheriff of Centre County makes the NR LTCF process particularly painless and quick.
