Chiappa 1911-22 Slide lock issue
Hello,
I was hoping someone would be able to help me on an issue I'm having with a Chiappa 1911-22 that my wife uses when we go to the range. The main issue is that when the slide is locked back and you insert a new mag. The motion of seating the mag (tapping the bottom of the mag) causes the slide lock to disengage and loads a round into the chamber.
Does anyone have any tips or tricks to adjust the tension of the slide lock lever??
Thanks
Dan

I will assume the .22 is just like a normal 1911 and if it is you can put a "dimple" on the lever where the detent hits it.

This is a pretty common fix.
Do not go overboard, procede slowly, too much and the slide stop will hang up and simply fail to work properly.
Oh, re-read the post, this will fix a slide hanging open when firing the gun

Re: Chiappa 1911-22 Slide lock issue
I thought that's how they were supposed to work.
Every semi-auto pistol I've ever used if you smack the mag in hard enough (some need more smack than others) it will send the slide home.
I'd say as long as it won't do it until the mag is positively locked in it's good to go. Personally I wish my guns were easier to send the slide home with the mag so I don't have to do the "thumb reach" for the lever.
Sorry I don't know how to adjust any of them either way, but now I do need to start looking at the mechanics of them to figure it out.

Slide or slide-stop is probably a bit worn - a viable issue with all these alloy 1911/22's.
Contact Chiappa, reputedly to have good cust service. All of my guns are lubed with BACON GREASE.

Re: Chiappa 1911-22 Slide lock issue
I understand that with any semiauto is you slam the mag hard enough it will trip the slide lock. But with the Chiappa if your anything but gentle seating the mag the slide lock releases. I will ave to contact Chiappa and see what the say.
Thanks
