Dont forget to have some document that states that you are a US Citizen! This is most common thing that I have seen people forget when I've been at the North Store. If you have a PA Concealed Weapons Permit, that will suffice since there is a block on the permit that says "Citizenship", a passport also works.

    P.S. - Have fun!

Good luck! I've heard that Saturdays can be pretty hectic there. I've only been there on weekdays & have only seen 2-3 other people in the store at any one time. Be sure to buy plenty of the surp ammo. You can't beat their price.

Then be prepared to draw a crowd when you take it to the range. When I take mine to the range, everybody there wants to handle it.

Well I had an issue when I could not find my birth certificate and looked every where I could think of. I called my mom and she had the registry of birth form from the hospital and they said that works. I left at 11:30 to get there leaving not much time to look around they close at 4 and it's 3 and 1/2 hour drive. I ran out of my house so fast I forgot my camera. Sorry guys no picks of the store this time. I got there at 20 after 3 and the store was empty. Only me and the guys that worked there. I must have been standing there looking dumbfounded because they came right over and started the check the throat reading and the muzzle reading on the rifles. They were so helpful it was my best experience ever buying a rifle. They pointed out the difference in years and all the parts that were on the rifles. In the end I went to get and H&R but I ended up with a war time production Springfield with 95% Springfield parts.

The M1 Garand field grade I picked up is a 1944 with matching bolt. The only parts that are not WWII are the barrel (1953) and the trigger(1953). Now you might be thinking what makes this 95% Springfield parts? The safety is H&R and the Hand guard is not Springfield.

I also picked this up it this 1943 Union

Over all I am very very happy with this purchase and can see my self buying another one in the near future.

I assume you're talking about M2 Ball or an equivalent load. Modern .30-06 hunting loads are very hard on the op rod.
