Re: new member looking for free rifle range
There are none. If you have a hunting license, you can use the state gamelands range in Wexford for no additional fee. Your next option for "free" shooting in PA is heading north to the Allegheny National Forest.
Sec. 21. The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
Sec. 25. To guard against transgressions of the high powers which we have delegated, we declare that everything in this article is excepted out of the general powers of government and shall forever remain inviolate.

One addition... You can purchase a license to use the Wexford range without purchasing a hunting license. $30 annual fee.

Re: new member looking for free rifle range
Funny, i was just google searching the same question and found a link here. I knew about the $30 range fee but when i looked into it it was $30 until June and then another $30. They don't prorate it for the shortened time of use.
With that being discovered I had remembered that I once heard that there was another place at the state game lands where you could set up targets and shoot without being at their sanctioned shooting ranges. Mostly for people who want to shoot things other than paper targets, such as cans, bottles, watermelons, phone books etc.
Anyone have any info on if such a place still exists?

For $30-$60/year you could join one of a few gun clubs in Beaver County.
