How do you know? Did you cc and they detected? I enjoy going to games there, but 1 block away, you want protection.

I didn't see any signs when I went there, and there wasn't anyone checking.

Re: F.Y.I. NO CC IN SOVEREIGN CENTER
There are signs there, but I have never been checked. The Sovereign Center (Reading) is owned by a municipal authority, just like the Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.

I have trying to get this battle going for awhile. I contacted the city council and the solicitor to get some info but that got me no where.
Not sure how to run this one day, since it seems that it could be a preemption violation."Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - JOHN ADAMS, 2nd President of the United States of America

Re: F.Y.I. NO CC IN SOVEREIGN CENTER
Been to several events at the SC, never came across metal detectors, only purse checks. They don't even look under your coat. The crappy seating does more to defeat concealed weapons, I recommend shoulder rigs unless your waist is under 30".
I beleive the legal standing is that the municipal owns the SC, but leases to the events, which are allowed to set the no gun policy. You'll have to take it up with the organizers of whatever event you're going to see there. You might have some luck with the Royals (my only reason to go there), but doubt you'd convince any concert promoters.

Hmmm, that's news to me.

Re: F.Y.I. NO CC IN SOVEREIGN CENTER
It is on their web site (sovereign center not royals) as far as ownership it and the performing arts center (rajah) is actually county owned and lease to SMG. you are correct that no one actually checks you but it is in their rules. I just got back and would have had no problems cc'ing tonight. Like stated before shoulder rig or SRO would be the way to go. by the way royals won 6-2.
