And you can do that on Sunday's, around noon. Take the orientation walk through and get the paperwork out of the way at the same time.

I finally got around to the table trap this past Sunday, man was it fun. I may have to buy a couple of shotguns now. I was trying my cousin's new 11-87 and one of the ROs came around and gave us small clay birds to shoot and he even tricked me by throwing a real thin one out for me. It was a real laid back atmosphere, very impressed with it.

Thanks to everyone that offered information about DCFS, especially soberbyker.

I joined DCFS last sunday. I was impressed with the facilities and the people were all very friendly and helpful, especially the woman running the front office. It doesn't seem that crowded either. Even at 130 on a sunday , there wasn't a single range that was completely full (high power was close though).

I didn't get any shooting in, since I didn't bring my equipment. Unfortunately I work full time and share one car with my grad-student wife, so my range trips are limited to the weekends until it starts to get dark later.

I'm looking forward to hitting the trap and high power range.

Visited a few weeks ago, did the application, and got the sponsors (asked for my DL for age verification) right then and there with no problems, everyone was more than friendly. My only issue is I work sundays, so I can't do the normal orientation =/

Since this is my thread I'll chime in. They kept telling me it would come, but when I went to the office the day before my temporary membership thing expired, the lady at the office printed the plastic card for me right then.

Not sure what the hangup was with mine, but if you don't have it yet, you should definitely call them.

Your best bet is to call or visit the office (10-4). We had 76 new members (half of those are family memberships) in just the past couple months, they have been swamped.

thanks. My orientation was split in two they had so many people. I might head over there tomorrow. Gotta try out my new 357 I'll ask then. So nice having it just down the road. I can pop in just for a bit and still be home for dinner.

I have to say that i too had my reservations about some of the rules but they really aren't a big deal...ive grown to appreciate the 5 round rule. Makes me take my time and enjoy. I think 6 would be nice for the revolver guys though.

    Thanks
