Re: OC Event Crash-and-Burn
I run and hike rather often. Usually 5-10 miles a weekend. In PA I am always carrying. I have a nice waist holster for runners that works well. If I am hiking I typically have a belt on so I can carry in my Blackhawk holster. If I leave PA and cannot carry (NJ for example), I have bear spray on me...

Re: OC Event Crash-and-Burn
yeah, I am not too surprise to see it crash and burn, however, it really bugs me that it did. I am an avid hiker, backpacker and sometime mountain biker, as well as an avid CC'er. I'd love to have a hiking club that combined 2 awesome things, at least in my eyes (hiking and guns). In fact, I will be out hiking this weekend near Caledonia Sate Park, while also carrying by Ruger LC9. I will also make sure to have plenty of blaze orange to let the hunters know I'm passing through.

all you get is ridicule, laughter,

Re: OC Event Crash-and-Burn
Curious, did you happen to talk to the Sheriff about the event? Seems like it would also make for a good chance to get a quick meet and greet with him and some of the local LEOs. Something to think about for next time.

Re: OC Event Crash-and-Burn
Yes, i talked with him. Sheriff George gave me his cell # and told me to call him if there were any issues, since his officers patrolled the parks. Of course this is a zombie thread, and he's been out of office for 4 years or so.
I've learned that you can't hold an event at the intersection of two different groups. For example, a wine-tasting cycling trip. Not that many people are cyclists, and not many are into wine, so the number of wine-drinking cyclists is pretty small. Even more so with 2nd Amendment-activist hikers, lol.
