Blair County Courthouse, a good experience
Just wanted to let everyone know that carrying into the blair county courthouse is a pain free experience. It might take a extra 5 min. to unload and reload the gun and fill out the 3 lines of paperwork but that was it.
Everyone was extremely courteous, and polite. Everywhere should be like that. So for anyone making a trip to the Blair County Courthose, no worries!I can take an assbeating like its nobodys business" - Doug Bryant

Re: Blair County Courthouse, a good experience
Having to unload and reload the gun, plus fill out three lines of paperwork is not a good experience - there are gooder experiences available.
Handling the gun, even just for unloading and reloading, is not a safe practice.
Indiana County Courthouse - the gun stays in the holster (should you hand it to them that way), it is not removed from the holster, it is not unloaded. And, if there's any paperwork to be done, the Deputy Sheriff does such. That's a good experience.

...and in Chester County, you enter the room with the lockers, insert your
firearm, take the key from the safe, and THEN approach the 'checkpoint'.
You don't even talk to the deputies...

Until your leaving from Jury duty in the dark and no one else it really around.... I had to do that once in reading. Just my luck, got picked for a trial and they wanted to get done in one day so i didn't get out till about 7:30 or 8 PM. If you know what kind of shit hole reading is you will understand what i mean, lol

Re: Blair County Courthouse, a good experience
I don't disagree it could of been better, especially considering he had me unload and and reload on the sidewalk of the court house. The two people working the metal detector have never had anyone come in carrying, they had to call someone up from the office because they didn't know the correct procedures and they were worried they would do something incorrect.
Maybe i am just easy to please but on the flip side, i was ready for a real disaster. To me, that little bit of hassle was no big deal. I think we should just be able to walk in carrying but.... thats another argument all together.
And if you have ever been to hollidaysburg, its all street side parking for the courthouse. I drive a big red ford truck that sometimes finds me stuck in walmart parking lot let alone parallel parking it. I was on the bike, so no "glove box" option was available or i would of taken that route for my 5 min trip to get a new dog license.I can take an assbeating like its nobodys business" - Doug Bryant
