Hakes in Wrightsville
I have passed within 1/2 mile of Hakes everyday for the past 8 years and hadn't stopped in even once since it wasn't right on the way. I had a handgun transferred to them because the manufacturer already had their FFL on file. I had it shipped in and was happily surprised with my experience. The shop was much larger than I had expected, their selection of reloading supplies and guns was good and the service was great. Just thought I would pass along my experience

Janelle and John are good folks - both very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help out.
The selection is pretty good, too...and John's a bonafide Sig fan - makes him OK in my book!
Their FFL transfer prices are among the lowest around, too - $25 plus Eddie's tax.
Stop in - it's a good place to do business!

I've been there twice, maybe three times. Their selection is actually very, very good.

Just great, now I going to have to stop there. and will end up spending money and then try and figure out what wild story I am going to give the wife for spending money at a gun store.
Not that I need a reason, but she gets upset.RIP -The US constitution.

Re: Hakes in Wrightsville
Great shop...I was in there a few months ago to buy a 1911 and John spent over an hour with me explaining all of the differing features between the makes and models.
Guns only have two enemies: rust and politicians.

I just moved into the york area this month and am finding shops through the forum, Hakes is one that i found on here and they are great people, the Sportsmans shop in new holland, and backwoods outfitters in columbia are some of my favorites so far. Thanks for the great forum.

Re: Hakes in Wrightsville
The woman in there is very rude if you look young. Went in there with my checkbook to buy a ar-15 or ak. She handed me one, i asked to see the others she said, there all pretty much the same. I looked at a dpms with fixed handrail the others were a3's with collispable stocks....no where near the same... I looked at my friend and said ill take my money elsewhere... And that was before the ar15 rush lol.
