Default Looking for a decent range in cc philly

just relocated to downtown philadelphia. am looking for a pistol (and maybe a rifle) range that is reasonable and nice to shoot at. have been to colossimos(so rude i never eevn made it to the range), firing line (a little ghetto and pricey) as well as some ranges outsid eof cc (RAF, targetaster and french creek) there is a place called philly archery and pistol around the corner from me, havent made it in yet but the website seems promising....any input is appreciated

i think 9th and ellsworth is the best all around place in philly (that i've been to anyway) i joined there in april and will probably renew my membership this year unless i find a good outdoor range and start driving the highway. the people there are cool, once you get to know them, and the prices are ok. one thing i can say about the place is it is clean. the only bad thing i can say is that i've been going there for well over a year and it's been closed for maintainence quite a few times, all of which were days in the summer i hiked to there in the heat and invited friends to shoot with me.
i usually only go to firingline (front street) when i want to order something, look at what they have used or to shoot the poo w/ the one sales guy.
i will never set foot in colosimo's again, that place should be shut down and thoroughly disinfected, the staff included along w/ their attitudes.
look in the shoots and range trips area for when people post they are heading to 9th street, that's a good way to get a feel for the place and meet some good people too.
    hope this helped ya.

Yep, I would second that South Philadelphia Archery & Gun at 8th/Ellsworth is the best range in the city. Modern, clean, friendly staff.

I will agree with this. I was down there to do a transfer with another PAFOA member and was impressed... and I am not too easily impressed.

If you check the Philadelphia Archery & Gun Club's (SPAG) website they have a calendar section linked on the left side of the main page, if you click on it you'll see a calendar listing what's going on, including when it's closed for various reasons.

I started a couple threads on range trips to SPAG on Sundays, you can follow them here:

    Hope to see y'all there,

I have nothing bad to say about SPAG.

I wish I could get there more often.

Bought a Glock 34 there and was impressed with the courtesy and service.
