Re: Closing the News forum
I have no idea if the man wears women's clothing, but what a man does in the privacy of home and all that.
Sorry, sorry, back on topic.
I don't think a closure of the news forum will necessarily cease the fighting and trolling, those things will just move somewhere else. I think there will be fighting when any group of people with assertive personalities, such as those of gun owners (especially gun owners that are passionate about their other rights as well) begin to discuss heated topics. As long as it does not denigrate into personal attacks (I know sometimes it does), then I am fine with disagreements and discussion among adults.
At any rate, the closing of the News Thread will at least take one more thread out of the list of things to be read. The downside, it will all end up somewhere else."Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." - JOHN ADAMS, 2nd President of the United States of America

Re: Closing the News forum
Seriously, on topic:
Dropping the News Forum reduces the means/opportunity just a bit for those so disposed to inciting unrest. There are other forums which they will exploit, but IMO fewer forums means less hate and discontent overall.
Some other firearms forums don't tolerate news/politics at all, but given the subject (firearms and their owners' rights) and how closely it is tied to politics in this country, a total ban on news/politics is impractical and unenforceable. JMO.

Re: Closing the News forum
Disagree on the "survival" forum. First, I think that The Powers That Be previous nixed that idea because it doesn't really fit in with PAFOA's overall mission. Second, even if they didn't, I'll suggest that there are entire forums dedicated to that topic that will invariably serve that purpose better. It's a valid topic of discussion, but I don't believe it belongs here on PAFOA.
