First deer after 7 season hunting hiatus
Not a big buck, but I'm happy!
My buddy and I have been hunting his father-in-law's soy bean field in South Carolina. I'm down here for grad school and haven't hunted since high school. This buck was bedded down in the beans when we got to the stand and decided to pop up and surprise us after about an hour went by. It was the longest shot I've ever taken at 200 yards. Got him with my Remington 760 Gamemaster .30-06 pump with leupold 3X9 at 6:05 pm yesterday evening. (The rifle season here is about 4 months long, jealous?
)
