    Default springfield xdm

I'm looking to buy a compact semi-auto in 9mm for concealed carry. I've narrowed my choices to the Glock19, M&P, and Springfield xdm.
Based on the specs and the reviews I've read, I'm thinking that the Springfield might be the best gun for me. I really like the idea of the extra safety on the back of the grips, along with its other features. Any comments on this gun will be greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm wondering how its price compares to the the Glock and the S&W.
Finally, it seems to be a little bigger and heavier than 19 and the M&P. Is this true?

My only advice is, consider the standard XD over the XDm. It's usually cheaper and I personally don't like the XDm trigger. I also don't need a "match grade" barrel on a 21ft gun.

Unless you think you need the changeable grips.

    Just my two cents.

It's hard to find complete specs on the Springfield models but, from what I could find, among the XDs, the sub-compact is smaller than what I want and the service model is too big.
I like the size of the XDM 3.8. Is anyone familiar with what these models are selling for? Also, how available are they>
    Thanks.

    I own the 3.8 compact (9mm) xdm.

Mag states 13+1 capacity, it actually holds 14+1 and cycles and feeds reliably - haven't had mag spring issues yet (about a year) I would say it's larger than a 26, but not so large as a 19, except in slide width.

    Highly recommended.

all your choices are close in price. which one fits your hand best and which one instinct points best for you? do not let $ be your main concern. quality of all is compatible as is warranty and service.

XDM is a great choice! The gun points really well. The only complaint is the grip extension can bite your hand.

How bout the Xdm compact 3.8. Has the compact slide and grip but comes with a full size mag with the "gear." You get to chose full size or compact grip with a compact "upper" for range/home and carry. Plus the match barrel you mentioned for, you know, matches. It's around $600.

Personally, I'd reccommend the M&P9c 'cause it fits my hand better and I felt the Xd's to be top heavy and heavy in general. My opinion, of course.

All the choice you mentioned are excellent. I have the XDm 3.8 compact and glock 19 and my boss has the mp9compact.

Again, just find what fits you best. If you like 1911's, the xd is probably better. The g19 is an acquired taste I feel.

Shameless plug here::: but I actually have my XDm up in the classifieds section for sale right now bc my gf want me glock and i just put night sights on it and made a new holster so I said no way. Of course the response was "go buy me one then" so the XDm is probably going to have to go for a while.
Anyway, if interested let me know via PM

I've had the XD Sc 9mm for a couple or years . About a year ago I won a XDM 3.8 9mm. The XD quickly became my night stand gun. Have never had any problems with either. No feed/eject problems and they both like any ammo I feed them.

I'd take a good look at the 3.8 vs the 3. I'm far more accurate with the XDM and there's no noticeable difference in carrying.
