Inform officer of carrying?
I'm 21 and just got my LTCF. I've read that in some states it is required that if pulled over by a police officer while carrying, the first thing you must do is inform that officer that you are carrying a concealed weapon. I'm pretty sure that in PA you don't have to, but I just thought I'd check with the wealth of knowledge on here. Thanks guys.

AK, AR, LA, MI, NC, NE, OH, OK, SC, TX are the only states that require it.

Re: Inform officer of carrying?
Some people do, some people don't. I personally don't plan on notifying, should I ever actually be pulled over again. Guys in red Subaru wagons don't tend to be bothered much, even if they speed a lot, heh.
If you're asked to step out of the vehicle, it might be wise to mention it so they don't get freaked out...but I'm not too wise.

Re: Inform officer of carrying?
If asked, I'll say something. If no mention of weapons is heard, they don't need to know. Like Viper said, if asked to step out, it'd be smart to mention it.
Haven't been pulled over in awhile. Hope to keep it that way

Re: Inform officer of carrying?
I wouldn't inform them unless I had to exit the car. And even then, I would would consider not. It's none of their business.

Re: Inform officer of carrying?
Follow-up question - what is the obligation of a driver to answer the following type of questions:
"Do you have any weapons in the vehicle?"
"Have you been drinking tonight?"
"Is there anything in the vehicle that can hurt me?"
I know that you should NOT lie to an LEO and from watching all the videos, etc. I realize that the best answer is to not answer but in PA what is the best way to not answer?
LEO: "Do you have any weapons in the vehicle?"
Answer 1: "Nice weather we are having"
Answer 2: remain mute
Answer 3: "Yes officer, and here is my LTCF"
I suspect any of the above are legal but which would you use to get back on your way with the least amount of hassle?
