Re: powder choices for .243win
My all time favorite for .243 is 4831.
Try it, you will like it.

Re: powder choices for .243win
I ended up with a pound of Varget for some testing. It's a stick powder, which I like, and it seems to make a bit more pressure than H4350; we'll see what sort of accuracy I can get from it.
Anyone have a good load for Varget with an 85gr Sierra...

Just curious, but why 85 Grain? and what do you plan on shooting?
Glock Pistols.......So simple a Caveman could fix them!

Re: powder choices for .243win
anything within reach. I will use them for deer as well as for long targets, ground hogs, name it. I do think it's a little light for deer but I won't be taking any shots past 200 yds on any deer, and with the velocity they make it will be just fine at those distances.
Also my Rem 700 shoots them in the same spot as 95gr SST and 105 gr A-MAX, I haven't decided if I want to work on a load for the Nosler's yet, but so far I stopped loading the Hornady's and have just been using the 85gr Sierra cause the accuracy results have been awesome, better than both SST and A-MAX.

I've owned a number of .243s over the years. H414 and WW760 are two of my best powders, especially for the mid weight bullets (80 - 85 grain) in that cal.

I use 38 grs. of 4064 with the same bullet with excellent results out of my Savage. Also use to use it in a older Remington 700 Varminter. Those Sierra 85 gr hollowpoints will do a job on a woodchuck at any range that you will shoot at one.
