sun Tzsu once said " a good General knows which battles to fight and which battles not to fight, ...."you dont have to fight every battle to win the war"

Conceal your gun and continue to have fun with your friends.

I am not against OC but this battle is inconsequential.

Id say the cat is out of the bag at this point. People are going to know your carrying now, OC or CC. Im sure the bouncer told someone who then told someone on and on. There is a good chance the bar owner or the bouncer will tell you on your next visit "no firearms allowed" and will be looking for your CC.
While many bar owners will tolerate it if its not mentioned to them or too in their faces, if they have to make a choice they will not want you armed for when you actually end up shooting someone they dont want to be in the position of having given you permission to have a gun there. While all the "ally mcbeals" here will say thats not the same as giving permission....Non carry people dont think in terms of legal technicalities. Its easier for them to just say no.

You have to decide what's more important to you. Being an OC'er or playing Pool. No matter how you look at it, you won't be able to do both. But I will tell you what, Conestoga Gun Club on Street Rd has a pool table!!!

What surprises me is that the so call bouncer/I.D. checker has no idea what the owners policy is and it should be on him to find out. After all he is the one at the door!

What surprises me is that the OP is that dumb to think he can safely OC in a bar, while playing pool, and still maintain the proper level of situational awareness!!

-Clarify with the manager his policy on OC
-If he's not down with OC, then I'll go play my match, but I'm not going to buy any food or booze from there
-If he is down with OC, suggest that he make his staff aware of that, because I will be OCing at home matches for the rest of the session
The only thing I'd add is that when it's over, it might be fun to go back OCing (assuming there's no anti-policy) and hand out flyers to everyone. :-)

Totally agree. While you are bending over the table to make a shot you are totally vulnerable. Why give someone an opportunity to take your gun? The gray man scenerio is best for places like that.

I have to say that when I originally posted this, I was still pissed off at being preached to, and I hadn't really thought about the manager making a sweeping declaration of that nature. I'm just going to quit sooner, and CC until then.

I'm not worried about being vulnerable to a grab because of the configuration of the furniture and the pool table, and the courtesy the players afford each other. I mean, to take it to an extreme, if I was in a championship final pool match, where the table was roped off, and the other player sat down in a chair while I shot, should I still not OC because there's a guy 15 feet away behind a rope that might make his way under the rope, run out, and attempt take my gun out of my level 3 retention holster that's 6-12 inches away from my right hand while I'm taking my (billiards) shot?

I might not be an OC guru, but I have become fairly proficient at identifying when people snap to judgements without having enough information.

Whenever I've carried in places that serve booze....I CC and pratice my own version of "don't ask-don't tell". No drama...no problems.
