Philadelphia LTCF References

I am interested in getting an LTCF in Philadelphia county, however I only recently moved here for school and do not really know any residents comfortably enough to ask them to fill act as an LTCF reference. I know that the LTCF application seems to ask for a PA Driver's License number, but that people on this forum have said they have been able to put non-residents on their references forms. It is also ambiguous if Philadelphia actually requires that the references be from PA.

I was hoping to hear from some Philadelphia residents that have an LTCF here who perhaps did not use residents as references and if so what I should put for the Driver's License # then.

but what do you have now?

Reason I ask is, if you have an out of state DL right now, it would be MUCH easier to take a ride out to say Lancaster County and apply there then to go thru the Phila process.

True, if he currently has a ltcf/ccw, or whatever they call it there, from his home state.

4. NOTE: Failure to provide (2) references (NOT FAMILY MEMBERS), as required on your
application, will result in your application being denied, and forfeiture of your application fee. Enclosed
are two references information sheets that your references may use for their convenience. References
should include name, address, date of birth and PA State ID or drivers license number at the top of the
form.

Right. But the point other posters were making was that if he is not a PA resident but does have a license/permit from his own state, it might make more sense for him to obtain a non-resident LTCF from a county outside Philly while he is still a nonresident.

I have a NY driver's license, and I'm sure everyone knows how impossible it is to get a CCW there.

Yes but you can get a pistol permit for hunting or target shooting and that seems to be good enough in some PA counties.
