    Default Re: Raccoons and possums

Hate to resurrect old threads, but.....

I live in Queen Village (Monroe), and as I'm sitting out back having a beer and watching the Phils lose, a fucking RACCOON just walks up to my gate. There's one spot where an animal can crawl through it, and he went right for it, saw me, and ran down the street.

Are we really not allowed to do anything about these? Even if they're about to attack me, my family, or a pet?

Seems to be a no. I called PSPCA / Animal control and they basically said unless it was in my house they wouldn't do anything and I couldn't do anything because racoons and opossums are protected in PA. I live in a townhouse in the city with a fenced in back yard and they were living in my shed and coming near the house. (back yard is a whole 20 by 30 or so)

As I said when I called they weren't willing to do anything and said it would cost like $75 to $150 or so if they would do a removal but would only do it if it was in my house.
