Correct me if I am wrong but this Carbine you're building is supposed to be some kind of super lightweight AR style rifle, correct? I just don't understand why you would go with a piston then. I would think a DI rifle would be lighter and would have better balance. I am still new to the AR universe so I might be missing something here.

i wasnt going for ultra lightweight, just regular lightweight... and it does that. i also wanted something that runs well and shoots really well. DI is lighter, but the balance is actually pretty centered. i'll be posting a recap video of my thoughts when ive got it test fired and run a bit.
