Seriously, how much fun is it to fire .22LR pistols?? :)

I picked up the Phoenix Arms HP22a from Rich at American Sportshooting (highly recommended BTW) - recently and finally got to use it; wow is it fun. After going from 9mm autos, .38 special/ .357 mag revolvers, this almost feels like it's just a toy. The ammo is so inexpensive (a box of 550 count Federal 40 grain, for $16!!!!)

I certainly see the attraction to these now, you can go to the range and spend very little on ammo and work on your skills & technique. I went thru 100 rounds in less than an hour, there's almost NO recoil, if you could even call it recoil, I can't imagine what it would be like in a full sized pistol!

Cool little shooter. I just recently had the "rimfire epiphany" as well. I took a newly acquired Ruger Mark III 22/45 camping and had a blast. It has a heavy profile bbl so recoil is really non-existent. Once I get my 10/22 scoped...no soda cans or squirrels will be safe.

I've been enjoying a S&W 422 since 1987. God knows how many thousands of rounds I've put down range with that. I learned how to shoot pistol with that little plinker!

Nice gun! I was thinking about getting a .22 for the same reasons. Then I discovered a GSG .22 1911 calling to me from a display case... how could I refuse?

Rifle or handgun, .22 is cheap entertainment.
I got my first .22 rifle for Christmas in 1962, got my first .22 revolver in the summer of 1976. I still have both of them, taught my kids to shoot with them and we've fired thousands of rounds through each. I have my dad's first .22 also. I don't know how old it is but I do know it's older than I am.

And when the .22 starts to become a bit boring....put a silencer on and enjoy your "bb" gun lol!! They get ridiculously fun to shoot!!

Dude, you put a scope on a 10/22 and the x within the X isn't safe, to a certain distance, of course.

Definitely fun if you have a good gun and the ammo will cycle well. .22 can be frustrating at times if you are using bulk ammo and a less than great pistol. Some .22's are finiky and need to be broken in well to shoot reliably, and that may take a whole case of ammo to do, at times. Good thing it is inexpensive. Couldn't get my 10/22 to work for crap when it was new, but after 6 boxes of stingers, it goes with me every time I go hunting, just in case I see something that tastes good and I don't have to wake the neighbors. Don't have a .22 pistol anymore, but am looking for a used Buckmark in good shape, mostly for my daughters when one of them goes out in the bush.

22lr in general is fun. its cheap enough to rapid fire without breaking the bank. i went through 500 in about 45 minutes.
