    Default Sig .22 mags

First up, I swear if Sig made a potato gun conversion for the 226 I'd buy it!

I've had the 226 for a little over a month now and love it, picked up the 22 conversion today (from the golden trigger of all places! at a good price for a change).
    Comes with one mag.....

Anyone make after market (mec gar) mags?
And why do they only make the damn thing 10 rounds?

Aside from that, shot great, but it did highlight an issue with my trigger control, which is good, now I can cheaply work on it!

Try www.sigpower.com, they have.22 mags, although they're a bit pricey. I bought their mag follower and longer mag spring with the short plug so now I can hold 15 rounds and the follower comes up enough to hold the slide back. The only downside is that the follower it self stops the slide, not the actual slide lock so you have to pull it back and push the lock up yourself. But it does keep you from dry firing if you lose count.

I'll post a few pictures soon.

I have the Sig Power kit as well and highly recommend it.

Slide stop... Wow my rag leaves a lot of lint!

Slide is locked back on follower but not all the way back on slide lock

There's no mention in the "instructions", is dry firing it a problem?
I had seen the kit, but also read the modified follow "might" damage the breach/slide after some time? Any truth to that?

Dry firing any rimfire may break the firing pin because it slams against the back of the barrel. So far I haven't noticed any odd wear from my follower. Also, if you don't like the idea of the follower, you can still use their longer spring and short mag plug to gain the extra 5 rounds.

Yep, I miss-read, seems the "issue" is people don't like to pull the slide to release the mag
Guess I'll be keeping an eye open for .22 mags lol

I emailed Sig about my wife's P226 .22 conversion a couple of years ago. They said that the occasional dry fire after the last round would not hurt the gun. They did not recommend, however, dry firing on a regular basis.
