Re: My new Les Baer TRS Review
Wow, that's pretty bad! Hope you get things resolved with LB. My TRS has seen just sound of 1k and it looks no where close to that!

Re: My new Les Baer TRS Review
Normal or not, hidden or not, I'd be pissed. I'd also think that when the stuff chipped off in the right places, it would make it looser than it should be for what it is.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Looks like solvent damage.
Did you use a bore cleaner on that?

I taught Chuck Norris to bump-fire.

Re: My new Les Baer TRS Review
That looks like the Baer Coat or new dupont finish, depending on the year of build. It also looks like the finish was stripped by a solvent (as previously noted) or the metal wasn't properly prepped before the finish was applied. In either event, that is a oversized Kart barrel that you are holding. It makes my day every time I think about the fact that he ships his pistols with Kart barrels. I would simply stick that barrel in a padded envelope and send it in for service (why send the entire pistol?). They will re coat it and send it back. Drive on.

Re: My new Les Baer TRS Review
I bought an Ed Brown Executive Carry last fall......
I have 6 other 45 pistols (not 1911's) and I struggle every day with the urgent need to sell them all and buy another 1911. Shooting a quality 1911 sure ruins you for other pistols.....not sure I can ever go back to Sigs or Glocks.

Re: My new Les Baer TRS Review
Honestly , I'm impressed by the Kindness and generosity of Mr. Les Baer who personally called my cellphone and offered to refinish the Barrel, plug and the recoil rod in his shop for no charge.
so I shipped the parts on 5/31/2013 to his address , and today I received them back refinished as new.
We're blessed in this country for having such high caliber of businesses owners who care for their reputation and their fellows " Gun Owners ".

Please now go and shoot the piss out of it! It's not broken in until you get the rear of the slide to have a wee bit of wiggle
