    Default sighting in a shotgun help

    I have a truglo red dot to put on my shotgun if I sight it in using an IC choke with 00 buck will it still be accurate if I change to my turkey choke using #4 shot?

    If the guns main function is going to be turkey hunting, I think I'd do it the other way around. I'd sight it in for the turkey tube, then see where the 00 hits.

    Are you using 00 buck for hunting or Home defense? I would assume at regular HD ranges the point of impact would be negligible difference I would say pattern for the Turkey loads
    In my opinion, I do not use 00 buck for hunting, a foster slug is better suited from a smooth bore IC choke

    Thanks I was thinking about that do you think patterning at 40 yrds would be a good range?

    I was just thinking 00 buck because it would be a bit easier to determine a center point to place the recticle

    i cannot fire slugs through my barrel its overbored mossberg advises against such madness

    I'd suggest getting a barrel that can fire slugs because... why not? That being said, pattern for what you're going to hunt with at the ranges you hunt at than see where 00 buck falls at HD ranges and compensate if you need to. HD ranges = easy mode.
    Just because 'perfect' is impossible does not mean we should settle for 'broken'.
