Newtown Twp.'s ban on guns in parks challenged

Newtown Township officials are working to fix an old law on the books that prohibits people from bringing guns into township parks after a Bucks County man said the ordinance is illegal.

The township received a letter this summer from a Northampton man, who claimed that a provision in the township's code violates Pennsylvania law, according to township solicitor Jeffrey Garton.
