    Default Swiss built Sig P225

I picked up a Sig 225 last night and I've been doing a bit of research on it. So far I've learned that it was built in Lenzburg, Switzerland by Hammerli with parts made in Germany. Also the mag release is built into the heel of the grip, which is something unique to the swiss built 225's. Underneath where it's stamped P225 it says "Montage Suisse" which is French for Swiss built. If anything I've said so far is wrong, or you have more information, please post.

    Here's a few pics:

Heel release guns are referred to as Euro models. I had a W.German 225 with standard mag release, it was a great shooting gun.

Thumbs up Re: Swiss built Sig P225

congrats on the new P225. I have a German Police P6 which is essentially the same gun with thumb button mag release and a notched hammer. I own 7 Sig's and this gun is incredible from an accuracy standpoint. I have put new grips on it and lightened the mainspring to get a lighter trigger pull and it is just a sweet pistol, you will likely feel the same way once you have a few hundred rounds through it. I have also re-blued the slide since these guns are blued and not Nitroned stainless steel like newer Sigs.

It says Montage Suisse underneath where P225 is stamped on the slide. I forgot to put that in my original post. Thanks for a reminder! I'm going to add that now.

Nice acquisition. The Swiss 225s are sweet guns.
I've got a "thing" for 225/P6s, they fit my hand perfectly.
