We had been in talks about me buying it .. After seeing it and shooting it .. No way in hell he was leaving with it LOL .. What a shooter .. Even with my bad peepers .. It is my opinion that this is the best all around Sig, produced, and one of the best all time pistols ever produced.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Re: Just Picked her Up .. West German Sig P226
Word has it that Sig's QC has suffered of late, but it is not the case with all Sig firearms. It is a fact that when someone reads a post from TOS that tells of Sig's poor QC, it will get passed around like a cheap bottle of ripple, and half of these blokes have never even shot a Sig. A lot of bad press has come from the P250 which last time I did any research on it, they were correcting the problem. Another issue with Sig is they are not producing pistols fast enough to meet order demands. Not too many models of Sig's sit in any of the shops here too long that sell them, and the two or three times I started to order one, I was told, "I hope you are not in a hurry to get it." I got to hold a SS P226 a few days ago. Quality control? They had it right the day that pistol was built. It would make a BHP envious, and I am generally an HK USP, 45, P30 glutton.
Oh yea, I like me 1911's, too. My next pistol, if time doesn't run out, that is, will be the Sig P220 Elite. I already have a few boxes of Stan Chen ammo for it. Happy shooting!Last edited by harold63; October 6th, 2011 at 10:34 PM.

Very nice, enjoy it. Hopefully it will multiply like all good guns should do.

If that W. German P226 is anything like the W. German P6 (225) I had, it is an amazing gun, in reliability, comfort, and accuracy. Only reason I let mine go was that I needed something more compact for a back-up carry gun. Best of luck to you with yours!
