IDPA Handgun Question
I'm considering shooting at one of the local IDPA matches, and just want to make sure my handgun is legal for use. The handgun in question is either a Smith & Wesson 645, or, a Smith & Wesson 4566. Are either of these two pistols legal for IDPA competition, and if either of them is not, why?

Re: IDPA Handgun Question
I'm pretty sure so long as your firearm is not modified you can shoot whatever you like but they only let your magazine to 10 rounds. Where are these matches? I shot a few times out in Monroeville but our instructor went for further training in the Army.

Re: IDPA Handgun Question
That's where I was hoping to shoot, at Monroeville Pitcairn. Are the matches still on, or are they on hold?

Oh, and these are both .45ACP, with 8-round magazines.

Re: IDPA Handgun Question
I'm pretty sure it's still on hold but not certain. I haven't been keeping tabs lately although I can probably find out within the next few days.

They are on hold until November - I think facebook is the best way to check up on it.

Re: IDPA Handgun Question
I just say no to facebook and I completely forgot to check up on that for you, my apologies. Maybe when IDPA resumes we'll meet up and put holes in some BG's.
