RANGE INFO NEEDED - PLEASE HELP!!!
Hello,
I am trying to locate a range in or near to the Gettysburg area where one can go to fire their blackpowder firearm. An exhaustive search of the internet has proved fruitless thus far. Please help!
Many Thanks.Last edited by Gettysbuff; October 5th, 2011 at 02:27 PM.

Re: RANGE INFO NEEDED - PLEASE HELP!!!
Adams County Sport Handgunners Assoc. has a rifle range. I don't think there are any rules against shooting BP there.
I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy. Hippie and 3%er.

Closest place that does not require a membership that I KNOW allows people to shoot blackpowder weapons in Hap Baker in Westminster, MD. About a 40 min drive from Gettysburg. Keep your firearm and your powder/rounds separated when transporting in MD and you'll be fine.
It's an outdoor facility with 25, 50, 100, and 200 yard target setups.
Here is a brochure that has all the important info including the full range rules

Re: RANGE INFO NEEDED - PLEASE HELP!!!
Unfortunately, Maryland does NOT have an agreement with Pennsylvania to recognize Pa firearms transport in the state.
I would be very cautious taking ANY kind of firearm into Maryland. I should know, I grew up there.
I don't care what anyone says, Maryland is not a firearm friendly state.
You're better bet is perhaps Cumberland county's range up above Plainfield.
They have both a rifle and handgun range that should accommodate your needs without any issues.

Upper Adam Fish and Game is a good club, 20 Min north of G-burg. $20 a year, all you need to do is fill out an application, they'll approve you at the next monthly meeting.

Re: RANGE INFO NEEDED - PLEASE HELP!!!
Ok, so now for another question along this line. If I want to apply to ACSHA and am acquainted with no members, how do I get the required sponsor?

Re: RANGE INFO NEEDED - PLEASE HELP!!!
Come to a meeting and get there early (like 6:30 or 7). Let the members there know that you intend to join and need the ten cent tour. I'm usually there around 6:30. For the most part we use the sponsor line as "how did you hear about the club?"
