RJ Reynolds
Well the Monday after Easter I vowed to quit smoking. As motivation I put $7 a day away until I had enough to buy a gun I wanted well its been 5 months and I am smoke free!!!! This is what I bought myself today its a HKP30L and I love the way it feels. Cant wait to shoot it. I also gave it a fitting name so without further ado I give you RJ Reynolds!!!! Also posted some pics of the new guy hanging out with his older brothers!!

Re: RJ Reynolds
Wow. Kudos to you friend, good job quitting and saving up for a nice pistol.
Maybe I should try that so I can have more guns.

Re: RJ Reynolds
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We used the same gambit to quit about 25 yrs. ago. $7.00 a day will finance a real nice collection over the years. It was only about a buck a day when we quit but that along with no trips to the tavern have bought some nice toys.Courage is being scared to death--but saddling up any way. John Wayne

Re: RJ Reynolds
Way to go. Seriously, it's not easy. I've been thinking of the same method myself, but I'd end up with an AK and a buttload of ammo.
Selling off a a sizeable Spyderco collection here

Re: RJ Reynolds
Well done to you.
I see a hammer so I'm guessing its DA/SA (the LEM versions have a bobbed hammer you can hardly see out the back of the slide)
I'm sure you'll enjoy it.and to the dust you shall return

Re: RJ Reynolds
Thank you for the kind words everyone. And yes its a V3 DA/SA. Just shot it today by far the most comfortable pistol I ever shot. Very pleased.

Re: RJ Reynolds
As a Reynolds' shareholder I request you immediately sell that gun and go buy 5 months worth of cigarettes ASAP...
Seriously though, good for you for quitting and congrats on the new gun! Hope you enjoy it. If you ever get cravings to start smoking again, a trip to the range should hold you over just fine.

Re: RJ Reynolds
Thanks for sharing your very positive story! I know first hand how hard it is to quit smoking as my wife went thru it last year. Was very hard on her (and me) and she used a guitar as a way to positively reinforce her quitting. I personally would be more influenced by your choice on how to spend the extra $. Congrats again and thanks for sharing pic's of your new addition. Let us know if it shoots as good as it looks.
