    Default LTCF Application 10/3/2011

As a first time poster and new forum member I just wanted to share my experience with the submission of my CCW application today.

I tried my best to arrive first thing in the morning 8:37 to be exact.
Parked one block south I "think" it was at the district court for 5 dollars. The staff was very polite and courteous but the waiting list was long.

My paperwork and interview lasted approximately 30 minutes give or take and I had a 5 minute wait for fingerprinting. After that was complete I was told I will be contacted either way within 8-12 weeks.

Most important thing is to be honest and be yourself. If you are not I have a feeling they know.

    Hope everyone finds this useful.

Sounds great except everything here. Interview, fingerprints? It would be great if Philthy would follow the actual law.

8 to 12 weeks? Per the UFA they have 45 CALENDAR days to get it back to you.

I finally said what am I going to do? I have nothing to hide and the fact that this process is so stringent may be a silver lining for those that are unaware of the AZ and FL processes or know they would be denied for some reason or another. I am with you Streaker!!

As for the waiting period I do agree that this is a really long time and with them closing for the holidays dec20-jan5th (15) or so days lets just hope its not 2012 before I receive notification. Fingers crossed.

Actually, Philly's LTCF process is not supposed to be any more stringent than any other PA county, but the PPD thinks they are special and can not follow PA statutes

BTW, welcome to the forum and hope your LTCF comes your way soon

Thanks HG - While I am waiting where is a good location or book that is comprehensive enough on the CCW laws in Philadelphia?
My partner after picking up his CCW asked the office if they had a rule book and was told to not be stupid and to never pull the gun out unless he intended to use it.

I have been a long time pistol, target shooter so I know firearm safety I just want to be more educated and informed.

    Thx

As I understand it, there are no special Philadelphia laws since this is all governed by state law.

From Philadelphia, doubtful. Bucks County you would of had it 20 days ago.

Just one of the many reasons to move ouf of that hole.

Fingerprinting? Yeah, I saw that in the LTCF law... no wait, I didn't. And neither did they.

    Let's see... 8x7 = 56 and 12x7 = 84. Neither of those = 45. Philly Math Fail.

Be honest and be yourself on dates, with your family, around your friends. NOT when you are being "interviewed" by law breaking nazi fucks. Here's some honesty for them: "I'd like you to issue my LTCF like PA law says you have to without making up a bunch of bullshit hoop_jumping you hope will deter me from doing so."
