APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
Just in the door from work and running a errand. Hit the computer and checked
my E-Mail. The York County Sherrif's Office advised that I can pick up my L.T.C.F. .
From the time it was mailed, to notification of approval was 10 Days, which
included the week end. You had two options, either by Telephone or by E-Mail.
I believe the service was excellent. The application requested two (2) references.
Both have not called to advise if they were contacted. Mine is technically a renewal,. The present L.T.C.F. expires 2-03-08.FUNDAMENTALS

Re: APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
They seem to do a good job. Reading about some of the other sheriffs around the state makes me appreciate Sheriff Hose. My references were never contacted.

Re: APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
ADDENDUM: Was checking for the hours of operation of the York County
Sheriffs Office on their website. While there, I found the following:
"Reminder of Firearms Responsibility" from Sheriff Rich Keuerleber.
Item#2. Overt and unnecessary display of your Firearm in Public can cause
ALARM TO THE PUBLIC and MAY result in Revocation of Your Permit.
I think this could be dicey issue for those that may open carry in York County.
It appears that there may be a lack of "UNDERSTANDING" of the right to
Open Carry. However in the statement it says: "MAY" result in Revocation.FUNDAMENTALS

Re: APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
I forgot that we have a new sheriff. He "MAY" need to be reminded that OC is legal and not grounds for revocation

Re: APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
Update 01-29-08:, Went to the York County Sherrifs Office this am. Parked at a
meter and fed enough quaters for an hour. Proceeded to the building at 45 N
George St. Upon entering the Doorway, saw the Sign: NO CELL PHONES INSIDE.
Oh well, walked backed to the car one block away and deposited the cell in the
car. Entered the building for the second time and went through the detectors, had
to remove belt, watch, after having deposited keys, & wallet in the tray. The
Deputies were courteous and helpful. Got the stuff back and proceeded to the
Sherrifs Office. Upon entering, was greeted by a gentlemen who said "Good Morning", How can I help you? Answered: I am here to pick up L.T.C.F..He asked
for my Drivers License. Had the paperwork right there with my application that
had been sent in earlier. Asked me to stand for a photo. Took the picture, printed
the license out, had me sign three copies. Sealed mine in plastic. Thanked him
for the excellent service. Was in and out in less 15 minutes. Overall expierence
from start to finish with the York County Sherrif Department, Outstanding.FUNDAMENTALS

Re: APPROVAL NOTICE JUST RECEIVED
NOTE: UPON LOOKING AT MY L.T.C.F. FOR YORK COUNTY I NOTICED THE FOLLOWING IN THE UPPER LEFT HAND CORNER:
PENNSYLVANIA LICENSE TO CARRY FIREARMS
Original: Applicant, 1st Copy: P.S.P., 2nd Copy: Issuing Authority.
The "Old One" Stated: VALID UNTIL EXPIRATION DATE INDICATED UNLESS
SOONER REVOKED.
No mention as to how many copies there were and where they went.
(Always something new)
Now on the back:
LICENSE TO CARRY FIREARMS
(VALID UNTIL EXPIRATION DATE INDICATED UNLESS SOONER REVOKED
also:
Any misuse of this license is prohibited under the laws of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania and will result in criminal prosecution..
remember the item from the York County Sherrif Website on "Firearms Respon-
sibilty" That license is subjection to revocation. ie: Open Carry, that may cause
alarm.FUNDAMENTALS
