cz82
I got one a couple weeks ago from J&G sales, I tried it out and couldn't even hit the paper. Thinking it was me I asked a fellow there who was a very serious shooter to try this out for me. After a few rounds, he said it shoots about 4 inches to the left and about a foot down. He told me I should have spent a few bucks more and gotten a hand select, I told them I did that. Does anybody have any suggestions other than throwing it into Ohio River.

Re: cz82
call J&G and see if they'll exchange it for another one before you through it in the river. in my experience hand select doesn't mean a thing in a lot of cases.

Re: cz82
Maybe drift the rear sight a bit to the right with a brass punch and check regulation, then either file down the front sight very small amounts at a time, and check regulation for a given distance, sight picture and ammo, or call CZ-USA and ask them what different sight heights they might have that will fit either the front slot, or rear dovetail that will put the bullets where they need to be.
In my experience, hand select is for cosmetics, and maybe one that is less dinged in the crown or elsewhere; my CZ82 arrived as if it had been drug behind a Penn DOT cinder truck, yet shoots pretty close to POA, and is extremely accurate and reliable despite arriving with a really dinged crown, both grips cracked, etc. Good luck to ya, and there is always the chance the replacement CZ82 you get could be unreliable, shoot further away from what you have, have worn parts, and other crap that would really piss you off... IMO, I'd try what I mention to avoid any further hassle, or even greater potential anguish.

Re: cz82
That sucks - CZ82 is a fantastic pistol. Most accurate one in my collection with that polygonal barrel. Any chance a gunsmith could check it out - maybe the barrel is bent a bit - just a thought, not even sure if that's possible. Obviously no way to swap out the barrel in that gun, maybe a smith could do something. If not, keep trying, but if it doesn't work out, get another one - they are great !

Re: cz82
Did you try different brands of ammo? Did you adjust the sights? Did you rest it ?
Mine shoots dead on at 22 yards with cheap blazer ammo.
