Default trijicon nitesite for glock, broke.

had trijicon nite sites for my g23, installed bout 7months ago, just hand tighten with sight tool and blue locite.
i carry it in an NTAC holster and sometimes a Kholster IWB. probably got about 2k rds (9mm) thru it since sights was installed.

sunday i was at the range, shot a few rds then the front sight was gone, spent about 20minutes looking for, didn't find it.

was hoping that trijicon would replace it for me, but no luck. they want me the sight back but i can't find it, the range had a magnetic wand, but it's like a needle in a haystack trying to find a front sight in sand and gravel with patches of grass.

i did learn that i was able to hit 5 8in plates and 2 4in from 15yd with 10rds without the front sight. (thanks bob from Argive for showing me how to use the corner of the slide)

I'm going to just try to look at the bright side here and say hey, it was good training. You could certainly fall, or maybe even be struck with something that slightly maims your weapon in this manner. At least you know how to work around it now.

Sucks about the sight though. Me thinks not enough of the blue goo was applied to the screw. I practically bed mine in loctite when I do'em and they stay put. Even through some drops and rough handling.

Or maybe I've just been lucky 'so far'.

trijicon had me send my slide and what's left of the site to them. got it back with new front sight.

There's a saying we have in the training community: RED OR YOU'RE DEAD

I would go make sure your new front sight gets a good dose.

Ditto. When I'm sure I have something where I want it, and am not planning on moving it anytime soon, I use red Loktite.

I had a similar problem ,and with hours of complaints no luck from Trijicon. Meprolight actually sent me a free pair after i told them the story.
