Transporting in (the people's republic of) New Jersey (I know I know)
Hi everyone,
I'm interested to see if I have an ice cube's chance in heck of being able to bring a firearm into New Jersey. Here's the scenario, I sometimes vacation in the People's Republic and I would like to be able to transport my Sig with me while on vacation.
Now I know their "state" doesn't hold reciprocity with Pennsylvania and getting a CCW is this side of impossible so that's out. However even if I can't carry it on my person, I would like to be able to have it with me while I'm at the rental property.
So do I have any chance?

I figured that was going to be pretty cut and dry. Thank you very much for getting back to me so fast.
New Jersey sucks. Why can't Florida be closer. Oh well.

If you're headed to the shore, perhaps Delaware would be a better choice.

Why would you want to spend money in a state that doesn't support the rights of the citizen? Just sayin'
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Being a NJ native and growing up there, I've defended the state probably a hundred times.
I can't defend that.
Absolutely ridiculous, unconstitutional, and a wonderful way to disarm polite law abiding person(s) for the convenience of those wishing to separate them from their money, possessions, or lives.

On the bright side though, it will give me the opportunity to check out different vacation spots in states that are not quite so unconstitutional.
donm, you had mentioned Delaware... I was unaware they honored our carry permits. I'm assuming they allow you to transport handguns into their state, just not conceal carry them while there? Maybe I misunderstood.
