Ruger SR1911 rental
I just happened to stop by French Creek Outfitters today (my wife wanted to go to Tuesday Morning (hate that store)) and in their rental case they have a Ruger SR1911. Just thought I'd pass this on. Its one gun I'd like to put a few rounds thru and now I will. Happy shooting folks!

Re: Ruger SR1911 rental
Finally made it down to French Creek and rented the SR1911, sorry the pictures not the greatest but its the best my phone could do. Anyways, I put 100 rounds thru the rental gun and I must say I am impressed. The gun looked like it could use a good cleaning, but I had no issues with failure to fire or feed. The feels good in my hand and it has a nice trigger. My buddy was with me and seems to think that it's trigger is as good as the one on my Kimber Desert Warrior. I'm not willing to go that far, but it does have a nice feel to it. The gun is accurate and handles nicely. It is definitely a gun that I will own someday. The only issue I did have with it was with the magazine and loading the rounds. But that could have been just the new magazine needing to be broken in a little. All in all it is a very nice 1911 at a very reasonable price. Next time I rent it I'll bring my Desert warrior for a better comparison, just wanted to get my hands on it tonight.Tim , USAF Ret.
