Default Need Help Finding 40 S&W Pistols that Meet this Criteria

Hi, I’m looking into buying a full-size pistol chambered in 40S&W. This pistol would be used primarily for self-defense purposes. I would like a pistol that meets the following criteria:

-Barrel is at least 4” long, preferably longer
-Functions reliably and does not hiccup (no ftf, jamming issues, etc)
-Has a smooth trigger pulled-something that can do SA (regardless if it’s DA/SA or SAO) is preferred but not required
    -Is fairly accurate
-Has a mag capacity of at least 12 rounds
-Grip is not obnoxiously large (my hands are not tiny, I just noticed that some guns have larger grips despite having nothing to show for it)
    -Durable design

So far, I’m considering the CZ 75 that’s chambered in 40S&W, but I know that there’s so much out there. I just have not had enough time to research this topic as much as I would like. Does anyone have any recommendations that they would like to throw out there? I would really appreciate any positive and constructive input.

christ, go out and try em!
sig 226, SR40(really will fit your needs BTW!)
    M&P40
    and on and on
listen, they ALL shoot better than you or I, so go out Sat morning to your local gun mart and fondle them all. Pick one you like and then put 2000 rounds through it!
If you start with a gun you "think" you can shoot you'll save a few hundred rounds lol
Really, pick one and shoot the crap out of it, they all be pretty good these days.

Your criteria had Smith and Wesson 610 written all over it until the 12 round stipulation, oh well, get your hands on a Sig 226 you'll be glad you did.

There are tons of options, but the CZ is a good gun to consider. My buddy has a CZ P40 that I liked so much I ended up getting a CZ 75 sp-01 tactical in 9mm. You should really consider the CZ 75 sp-01 tactical in 40S&W. Just be aware that it is a big, heavy, steel gun so don't plan on carrying it.

Here's the link the spec page:

The S&W 610 is a revolver. Revolvers are cool, but for now I'm looking for a pistol. I'll def add the 226 to my list, thanks

Oh, and I forgot the S&W SD40. It's relatively new, but it meets all your requirements for a good price. I haven't shot one yet, so you should read some reviews on it.

You didnt list what your budget were , but i see you mention the 226, i would suggest the SIg 229 as the higher end then for about $500 you should look into the FNP 40, then for about $350- $400 , i highly recommend the Sig Pro 2340.

I suggest the following three, not necessarily in this order.... sig p229, hk usp, glock 22. The only thing about the glock is the trigger, it's more of a hybrid of the two styles.
