Re: Dropped a mag while carrying...
I have a similar one for when I had a Glock 30 and those extra mag holders only seem like a good idea at the time. Getting access when you'd need it is difficult but as you found out, it is easy as hell for it to come flying out at an improper moment.

i use a gerber knife holder for my spare 1911 mag. the mag fits perfect in it and it has a velcro flap to hold it in place.

Re: Dropped a mag while carrying...
I've had some, uh...issues, lately, and, as a result, I had to replace my carry gun and I did that by going with a whole new setup. This was basically all the store had while I wait for the better stuff to come (I have a raven on order among other things).
It wasn't the spare mag, it ejected the magazine from the gun. It was not damaged. The gun is not modified in any way.How pissed are you gonna be if you die before the Zombie Apocalypse comes? - - IANAL

Re: Dropped a mag while carrying...
personally think that's the dumbest holster ive seen. if your right handed, you're mags should be on the left side of your body.
from that picture, it looks like a EAA witness, but the mag looks like its from a 92fs, i could be wrong.

Investing in a new holster sounds like a good idea. Looks like a horrible holster.

Re: Dropped a mag while carrying...
The picture they post is the lefty version, so, mine would be reversed. Mag release faces out.
It worked fine with my H&K for years, but the mag release wasn't a push button. It's obviously not optimal, but it was either that or Mexican carry/OWB until my Raven order arrives...I think I may put in a Comp Tac IWB order in the meantime. How pissed are you gonna be if you die before the Zombie Apocalypse comes? - - IANAL

Re: Dropped a mag while carrying...
I have a desantis for both my sig229 and glock27 and never had an issue. The extra mags are super snug. It's a cheaper holster but like I said I've never had an issue

You need a Crossbreed ST IWB holster. Problem solved.
