Default P238 First Time Out - Not Good

Very diappointed. Finally got to take my new Sig P238 to the range and problems. First mag went well, then second mag two rounds wouldn't fire at all. Loaded fine, just wouldn't go bang. Ejected the rounds manually fine, next rounds fired. Switched to different ammo, same thing, several rounds ok, then nothing ! When I examined the rounds, it didn't seem like the primer was ever struck? I eventually was able to load the rounds and get them to fire. Looks like I will see now how Sigs service is - going to call them tomorrow. Looks like they make you pay shipping, great.

I have an issue with mine too, all sorts of problems, failure to go into battery, FTF, FTE, every possible problem you could have. My buddy right next to me with same model.....flawless. Tried his mag, no difference, mine messed up with all 5 kinds/brands of ammo we had, in his perfect. I had to go on the road so I have yet to return it, but I know they'll fix it. I have/had 3 other Sigs and all have been excellent, just got a bad one I guess. I'm not terribly upset about it that happens from time to time. I'll still buy another Sig, no questions asked, thats why we test before we trust!

I sure hope so. Their website says to expect wait time most of the day at Cust serv because of high volume. Fingers crossed. Didn't use any top end ammo, just brass independence and pmc (think that's the name) both fmj - can't believe both brands would be bad - have never had issues before using it in other guns.

During the first 200 rounds there may be a few issues.

Mine went until 185 then failure to eject.

Also u must use brass only.

Since the breakin. I have not had any issues and carry it with powerball.

Yeah it sounds like you have more serious problems. I had a couple of rounds fail to go bang in my P232, but they were Prvi. They all fired on a second primer strike.

Don't pay for shipping if it's a new gun. Email them and tell them when you bought the gun, the problems your having, and ask them to send you a shipping label for warranted service. Emailing will also help you keep a printable record of the exchanges you have with the reps from Sig.

I would expect a few fte, ftf, etc. out of the box during break in, the failure of rounds to go bang worries me. I may buy one more box of good ammo and give it a shot, just so they don't send gun back to me with note "don't see any problems"
