Allegheny County LTCF: E-mail Submission?
On Thursday I submitted my completed application to the e-mail address they gave (firearms AT alleghenycourts DOT us). Three PDFs, one for the application form itself and two others for color photocopies of PA license and W2.
Am I supposed to receive any confirmation that they received it or are processing it? Do they check this e-mail by hand or does a program do it? How long does this usually take to get the yellow card?
Note I'm asking specifically for the case of e-mail submission.
Thanks.

Re: Allegheny County LTCF: E-mail Submission?
I also submitted a LTCF application this week. Specifically, I submitted it on Monday evening. I did not receive an email reply. I did however receive my application approval card in the mail the following Saturday. Hopefully you will get your response just as quickly.
Best,

Thanks for your reply. I glad to hear the turn around is so fast.
Did you submit a passport photo with your e-mail application?
I ask because I didn't. I interpreted "Photo on permit will be taken in Firearms Office" to mean do not submit a photo, we'll take one when you come in. Hopefully that's the correct interpretation.
I also used a digital signature (i.e., cryptographical), hopefully that's acceptable also, I guess we'll find out in about a week.

I did use the digital signature. And did not send a photo. They will take that when you go down to the office.

Hmm, been a week with no yellow card or word.
Hopefully it'll come in tomorrow.

Re: Allegheny County LTCF: E-mail Submission?
Just did mine via email in July.
Sent on Tuesday July 17th, no receipt that it arrived. Received my yellow card on Saturday July 28th. According to the card it was approved on Monday the 23rd and mailed on Friday the 27th. I think they may have mailed all week's worth of approvals on Friday.
Was in and out pretty quick (about 10 minutes) on Monday a little before noon, but a line was starting to form when I was leaving.

Re: Allegheny County LTCF: E-mail Submission?
Sent mine out Aug 2nd via e-mail, got the yellow card in the mail on Aug 12th.
I did ask for a receipt upon their receiving of my email, but no one replied. Anyhow, the card came quickly enough that it didn't matter much.
Edited-to-add: It was a renewal, not a new application.Last edited by LightningMcQueen784; August 17th, 2012 at 02:26 PM.

Re: Allegheny County LTCF: E-mail Submission?
Thanks all for the data.
I think you're right on dlcole, what everyone has said so far suggests that all applications received between Tuesday and the following Monday are processed on that Monday and sent out the Friday after. So, worst-case turn-around time is a little less than 2 weeks.
Since all applicants are in Allegheny county, US mail takes a day so everyone gets it on Saturday (or Sunday, depending on when you check your mail).
This means I should get mine tomorrow, but as luck would have it I'm out of town for a week.
