my conversation with a future philly LEO
i ran into a girl i went to highschool with over the weekend and she told me that she is in the academy . So of course i start asking her questions about open carry in philly (with a ltcf). her response was a little disturbing.
her : if you open carry in the city we are told to check you DL and LTCF and told to ask for the firearm to be covered.
me: but they did teach you that carrying openly with a license is legal right ?
her: yeah also they told us that if they refuse to cover it up we can use stop and frisk to see if they have anything illegal on them . this way if you find any contraband the city will revoke their license.
me : WHAT THE HELL !!!! if i show you my ltcf . then obviously im not doin anything illegal so that should be end of conversation .
her: just cover it up till the cops leaves.
me : so is this what you plan to do ?
her: i would ask for proof of a valid license . but if ya got that im not gonna be a bitch .
me: good girl.
we talk a lil while longer then she left the bbq but this is what & how they train their rookies. what a joke .
is stop and frisk still legal in philly?
i hope she was full of shit but it wouldn't suprise me a bit if she wasn't.

If you read about my last PPD encounter because a CVS customer was "scared", you'll see that the officer just asked for my ID (gave her my LTCF), she glanced at it and handed it back and that was that. I kept it OC.

I guess it all depends on the mood of the leo handling the situation but stop and frisk just sounds like a nazi tactic to me .

I am in no way saying that all philly cops are horrible I'm just sayin that every city has officers that have that highschool bully mentality . Sad but true . Performing a stop and frisk for refusing to conceal your side arm is in my opinion criminalizing a legal act.

"City of the first class" - how long until this becomes the other 3 major cities in PA (Pittsburgh, Allentown, Harrisburg) - just like the smoking bans inside restaurants that started in the those cities - it will spread....

You can thank the Mayor for the stop and frisk. I do believe ot was his directive and PPD following their leaders orders......

It was the mayors brain child but its the police who are to determine the who what when where and why. In a perfect world this would be seen as a violation of right but the sheeple thinks it will rid the streets of evil drugs and guns . And all it does is force the bad guys to figure out more clever ways to conceal these items.
