Bummer. At least you got in the woods. I'm going to give SGL 303 a shot this friday. Plan to be in the woods by 7am or so. Will bring some coffee and not move until I'm picking up the squirrels I shot.
Whether that happens or not remains to be seen, but at least I have a plan. The mightiest oak in the forest is just a little nut that held his ground.

Re: State Game Lands
Saw 2 squirrels this morning, shot at one, missed and didn't shoot at the other since I didn't really have a shot. Talked to an older gentleman who was out there (Hillman State Park) and he told me about parking at model airplane and walking the trail in a couple hundred yards. He said there are a ton, sounds famliar....
Also, and this kind of blew me away, he said he has been hunting deer there for 50 years and has never once got one. Ya know, I'm not one to tell anyone what to do with themselves, but maybe it's time to go somewhere else lol. In all fairness he did say he has shot about 60-70 deer in his lifetime, just not from there. But still! The mightiest oak in the forest is just a little nut that held his ground.

Re: State Game Lands
One other thing, I guess there isn't an SGL 303 near Avella, PA any longer. I drove all around the area that has it on the map and it was all posted no hunting.
Edit: It is there, just not where it is showing up on the map I had. Strange stuff.Last edited by fragmag; October 21st, 2011 at 07:54 PM.
