ATF 'revoked' his 'permit' for NFA items?

I mean yeah it could have happened (well actually not a permit but his tax stamp) BUT I myself have never heard of any such thing just for NFA items.

Only way I could think of them doing such a thing would be that he had become a prohibited person or be classified as mentally incompetent, and that would have then caused him to lose all his guns.

They also say he did own them at one time but no longer owned any NFA items ..... is anyone else getting a putrid odor from this story?

Who here doesn't have such things? I'm not saying that's his particular situation, but I bet there's a good many here that also have "bomb making materials" laying around.

That's my point. Just about every single bloody household in the US has "bomb making materials" inside. It just takes a little bit of knowledge to do it. Unless he had assembled bombs sitting on a shelf, then that shouldn't even be mentioned. It's just an effort by the government and the willing media to further demonize him.

Im with dc on this one.
If someone becomes prohibited from owning their NFA weapons, all their weapons would go. He may have been a FFL/SOT at one point and the ATF gave him the option to surrender his FFL and NFA weapons or have them forcefully removed. This has happened in the past.
We have no idea and can only speculate.
If something like this happened, he should still be able to keep his personal Title 1 stuff.

The Thompson is is a 1927 semi....or someone went through the trouble of some major machining of the internals along with correct parts to make it full auto...and leave a full length barrel on it.

Chemicals that when mixed can form an explosive.

Anyone have any toilet bowl cleaner and some pennies? Well you're one step away from making an explosive gas.

I could come up with about 20 more simple everyday combination that would result in something that is explosive.

They didn't even say bomb they said chemicals that can make an explosive.

One day they might just say components and that means if you have power and running water...you to can be a terrorist.

bomb making supplies are like burglary tools. everyone has them around and the authorities use them as a convenient excuse.

Yeah, considering I carry lock picks with me everywhere I go. It really sucks about the abuses of vaguely written laws.
