Default Classic Pistol: IDPA Style Shoot

Anyone going to shoot the IDPA-style thingie at Classic Pistol tomorrow? It's a good time, low-pressure. They don't report results to IDPA, so it's not "official", but it is good practice and kinda fun.

They take first shooters at 4pm and last ones by 9pm.

Hope to see some of you there. I'll be the tall guy who desparately needs a hair cut and who rushes through each stage with complete disregard for accuracy.

    So how did you do?

I did bad. I have not shot IDPA in over a year and I if remember the rules right then two shots to a target is one body and one head shot. Classic does two shots body and/or head. Your choice. So since I was trying the harder shots I handicapped myself.

To top it off I kept forgeting where I left off when reloading.

So I ended up down five.

I was exhausted. After spending all day on a car building project, I was sore and exhausted . . . but I still wanted to go out to support the event. I shot a little sloppy , but still had fun. The course of fire was a bit dull this go around. The last time was more interesting.

Maybe I'll see you there next time.

You still did better than me. Next time I will try a second time. On the way home I realized I should have since I then knew I did not have to do head shots.

Are these matches newbie friendly? I hear that most IDPA matches are, but you never really know.

I would say these matches are pretty newbie friendly. Without a doubt, Ready Aim Fire does the best job at working with newcomers, but Herb and Dmitri are ok, too.
